FROM THE MAINLAND
transportation
We are always looking for local drivers in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and north east area to transport dogs between the airport and their foster or forever homes, or from foster homes to adoption events. Watch our facebook page and our PSD Volunteers & Fosters page for more postings and ads looking for drivers.
doggie chaperone
Do you have an upcoming trip to Puerto Rico? Want to help us carry back a dog? We are always looking for puppy chaperones to carry back small adult dogs or puppies from Puerto Rico in their carry-on luggage. We cover the cost of the transportation of the dog, and coordinate all day-of logistics and required paperwork. To register your travel with us, fill out the form at (link here) and our transportation coordinator will be in touch to help explain the process.
event support
Want to wrangle puppies for an afternoon? Help out with our adoption events! We can always use more hands at our events. Our event volunteers share our mission with visitors, talk to potential adopters, and help sell merchandise and manage donations.

Our adoptions and foster coordinator is always looking for help conducting home visits, requesting veterinary records, and reading applications. If you would like to join our adoptions team, let us know at adoptions.psd@gmail.com

ON THE ISLAND
transportation
In Puerto Rico, our dogs are frequently on the move between foster homes, veterinary visits, and trips to the airport. If you would like to help us bring dogs to their vet appointments, freedom flights, and foster or forever homes, please reach out via facebook messenger or email to join the ground team.
feeding routes
We sponsor feeding routes in the area of Punta Santiago and around the greater municipality of Humacao and are always looking for people to help us feed and provide water to the dogs there. You can email us to coordinate a time to pick up supplies if you would like to conduct your own feeding route in Humacao or somewhere else in Puerto Rico.
walk a shelter dog
Some of our partners in rescue maintain a small boarding facility in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. We always need help walking dogs, cleaning kennels, and providing some much needed TLC to the doggies and puppies there. If you are local or would like to visit, let us know!
